  BMAP China Manufacturing Support Leader BACK

Expectations:

Provide technical leadership for A/P Manufacturing to: improve machine efficiencies and product quality, increase capacity, reduce cost, deliver capital projects, introduce new products and assure environmental compliance.

This will be accomplished through initiating and implementing technical improvements, preventing and resolving technical problems, introducing and developing new products, participating the implementing of capital projects, and assessing the capabilities of the processes and materials.


Position Description:

The manufacturing Support Leader is the technical leader to OC BMAP manufacturing operation, She/he manages a team of engineers (PAL/PTL/PE/ME) directly and indirectly, driving their performance on process / productivity improvement, capital projects delivery, new products design and introduction and materials changes. He/she works with a cross-functional team to assure that customer expectations and business goals are met.


Functions and responsibilities:

• Defines and recommends technical strategy to BMAP manufacturing to help ensure the unit achieves its overall business goals. • Provides technical leadership of capital projects within manufacturing facilities in BMAP.

• Cycle owner for Capital Fixed Assets.

• Provides technical direction to the engineers (PAL/PTL/PE/ME), while promoting productivity, cost reduction, environmental stewardship and continue improvement projects.

• Directs development, introduction and improvement for the BMAP’s products.

• Promotes networking and communication between the engineers, plants, ISBT and ISBMS.

• Coaches and trains all engineers to improve the technique and management skills.
• Responsible for development of succession plans for his/her direct reports.

• Contributes, as requested, to the senior leadership foreword strategic plans.

• Other related work assigned by his/her manager and the company from time to time


Requirements:

• Demonstrated track records of success in plant operations and project delivery. Experienced in leading a technical team to get step change business results.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in leading team members to set and meet key milestones, and be able to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels within the organization. Excellence in execution: outcome focus, enable speed, resilience, action oriented, resources deployment & time line management.

• Be able to capitalize on relationships with other companies, leverage existing products and solutions, and assess a wide range of technologies that exist in the industry and academia to speed up solution development and commercialization to market.

• Demonstrated strong project management and team building skills. Be able to coach and manage team members in multi locations and multi cultures

• Has wealth of knowledge in various building materials processes and the related manufacturing methods. Stays in touch with the best practice and leading technology in the industry.

• Understand the local culture and be able to leverage capabilities in local universities and institutes.

• Be able to work with a team of plant leaders in BMAP and MSE/MTE in US, and provide guidance to team members.

• Demonstrated commitment to safety.

• Love to raise the bar of performance of self and of the team members.


CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION

Degree Major Importance
BS – Mechanical, Civil, Chemical orMaterial Engineering
or related field
Technical Required
Master Technical Required
PHD Technical Required


Comments:
7+ years work experience in building material and/or composite industry
2-3 yrs leadership experience of multi-tasking Technical team
